WHAT IS A CAR TRACKER AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
A car tracker is also known as a GPS tracker i.e., Global Positioning System tracker. These are special devices made for vehicle owners in order for them to monitor their cars, motorbikes and trucks etc. other than that, they can also be used for vehicle fuel tracking, vehicle theft alerts, engine kill and can alert certain drivers when they drive above the required speed limit.
A tracker uses micro-waves to connect with a network of satellites to determine the location of the car wherever it may be, the signals are transmitted at 1/360 of a second to the GPS of the vehicle which further passes on the info to the car tracker.
WHERE IS THE TRACKER LOCATED IN A VEHICLE?
Firstly, one should know what a tracker looks like in general in order to check for it, the size of the tracker varies as it depends on the manufacturer’s idea. It is a small, cuboid shaped device that is 3 inches long and 1 inch thick around the sides just like a deck of cards. Many car trackers are installed under the interior car dashboard that is located at the passenger hand side. It can be either installed magnetically or using wires.
PRICE RANGE OF VARIOUS TRACKERS:
Every tracker price comes in an overall package, there are three packages:
1). “The I-Track Package” costs 15000Rs and its features in include 24/7 non-stop monitoring, location of call service and stores car history. It only 1 GSM which allows the tracker to track the car in one specific city only and give alerts.
2). “The I-Control package” costs 18000Rs and its features include 24/7 non-stop monitoring and gives over speeding, ignition on/off alerts via phone SMS. It contains 5 GSM sims which allows the tracker to monitor car in five cities i.e., one for each destination.
3). “The I-Manage package” costs 22000Rs and its features also include 24/7 monitoring, history storage, over speeding alerts, ignition on/off alerts, engine kill, oil change alerts, milage reports which can alert the drivers via SMS or tracker apps downloaded in mobile phones. It contains many GSM sims which can work in any area of the country the car enters.
EFFICENCY AND ACCURACY OF CAR TRACKERS?
A vast majority of car trackers can pin-point the location of car under and above a 4-meter radius easily but some more efficient trackers can monitor car under a 0.5-meter radius as well. These GPS trackers can get as accurate as possible through latest technology. furthermore, the more efficient car trackers can record other activities like engine kill, over speeding alerts, they can also reduce carbon footprint and hence overall save much of the fuel cost.
